ALLIE McGHEE

The News
"…a symbol of the clear vision and intellectual dignity with which President Obama ceaselessly confronts myriad issues for the benefit of mankind.”
Born in Charlotte, West Virginia, Allie McGhee is known for his large, expressive paintings in which he often combines colors inspired by nature with symbolic forms and shapes to convey ideas about harmony in the universe.
Allie correlates his own work to the compelling sounds of jazz improvisation. His exploration of science and spirituality is evident in his art and draws parallels between the two.
McGhee’s works can be found in the Detroit Institute of Arts, Henry Ford Hospital, The Studio Museum in Harlem, The James Lewis Museum at Morgan State University and Japan’s Toyota City Hall.
